Modesto Hosts Star Wars Premiere
In 2005, George Lucas honored his hometown of Modesto by providing one of the 11 charity premieres of "Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" at Brendan Theatres in downtown.The charity event raised money to help with construction of the Gallo Center for the Arts. The performing arts venue was completed in 2007.
